The Different Material Used For Paper Bags

  1. Kraft paper – This is a durable and strong paper made from wood pulp. It is often used to make brown paper bags.
  2. Recycled paper – This is paper that has been made from previously used paper products. It is often used to make eco-friendly paper bags.
  3. Bleached paper – This is paper that has been treated with chemicals to remove its natural color. It is often used to make white paper bags.
  4. Coated paper – This is paper that has been coated with a layer of material to make it water-resistant. It is often used to make paper bags for carrying food and beverages.
  5. Specialty paper – This includes a wide range of paper types, such as textured, colored, and patterned paper. It can be used to create custom paper bags with unique designs and styles.

These are just a few examples of the different paper materials used to make paper bags. The type of paper used will depend on the specific needs of the bag, such as its strength, durability, and intended use.

Handle Types For Custom Paper Bags

  1. Twisted paper handles – These are handles that are made by twisting a length of paper around itself to create a rope-like handle. They are often used for smaller paper bags.
  2. Flat paper handles – These are handles that are made by folding a length of paper over itself and gluing it to the sides of the bag. They are often used for larger paper bags.
  3. Die-cut handles – These are handles that are cut directly into the paper of the bag, creating a handle-shaped hole. They are often used for paper bags with more intricate designs.
  4. Rope handles – These are handles that are made from a length of rope or cord that is attached to the paper bag. They are often used for high-end paper bags.
  5. Ribbon handles – These are handles that are made from a length of ribbon that is attached to the paper bag. They are often used for gift bags and special occasions.
  6. Loop handles – These are handles that are made from a loop of paper that is attached to the top of the bag. They are often used for paper bags with a flap or top closure.

Printing & Coating Options For Custom Paper Bags

There are different printing and coating methods that can be used for paper bags to achieve various visual effects and enhance the durability of the paper. Some of the most common printing and coating methods include:

  1. Flexographic printing – This is a popular printing method for paper bags, which involves printing directly onto the paper using flexible plates. It is commonly used for simple designs and logos.
  2. Offset printing – This is another printing method that is used for paper bags, which involves printing onto a rubber blanket before transferring the design onto the paper. This method is ideal for larger print runs and more complex designs.
  3. Digital printing – This printing method is ideal for short print runs and more intricate designs as it involves printing the design directly onto the paper using a digital printer.
  4. Hot Foil stamping – This is a process that involves applying a foil or metallic finish to the paper bag through heat and pressure. This method is commonly used to add a luxury touch to paper bags.
  5. Lamination – This is a process of adding a thin layer of plastic film to the surface of the paper bag to make it water-resistant, more durable and give it a glossy finish. It is commonly used for food and beverage packaging.
  6. Varnishing – This is a coating process that involves applying a thin layer of varnish to the paper bag to protect it against wear and tear, give it a glossy or matte finish, and make it more resistant to moisture.
  7. Embossing – This is a printing method that involves creating a raised or recessed design on the surface of the paper bag by pressing it with a patterned plate or roller.

General Classification of Custom Paper Bags

SILK HANDLE PAPER BAGS

Silk handles were first introduced about 20 years ago for apparel packaging bags. A designer discovered they had leftover silk fabric from producing apparel and decided to repurpose it as paper bag handles. This invention proved to be a game-changer. Compared to nylon handles, silk handles offer a more comfortable grip for customers. Today, silk handles have become a preferred choice for many paper bag manufacturers.

On the left, you can see six examples of paper bags with silk handles. Four are used for cosmetics and beauty product packaging, one for apparel and hat packaging, and one for perfume packaging.

General Classification of Custom Paper Bags

NYLON HANDLE PAPER BAGS

Nylon handles are the most popular option for custom paper bags due to their affordability, ease of use, and availability in various colors. These handles feature plastic ends that act like shoelaces, preventing them from slipping off. You can choose from a wide range of colors such as red, black, pink, yellow, gray, and more.

To further enhance the appearance of your paper bags, you can match the handle color with your bag design. This creates a cohesive look, as shown in the images on the left. Our custom paper bags are primarily made from virgin paperboard and can be printed with your desired design. With our handle options and printing capabilities, we can help you create a stunning custom paper bag.

KRAFT PAPER BAGS

For those who prioritize eco-friendliness in their packaging, Kraft paper is an ideal choice for custom paper bags. While white virgin paperboard can be printed to resemble Kraft, the natural feel of Kraft paper cannot be replicated. Its distinctive brown color is easily recognizable.

On the right, you can see five examples of Kraft paper bags ranging from 120gsm to 280gsm in weight, made from imported or locally produced materials. These bags are suitable for cosmetics, watches, bird food, apparel, and snack food packaging. Our advanced printing machine allows for intricate designs to be printed directly onto the Kraft paper bags, unlike other manufacturers who only accept simple print work.
